Once again, we like to belabour the point that desktop computers can pack a whole lot more power than their more portable laptop counterparts. Bundles are almost as fun as all-in-ones; you get a bunch of stuff for one price, usually discounted, resulting is significant savings. The above bundle sees a Dell XPS 8300 desktop computer and a 24 inch monitor going for the reasonable price of $949 after $498 in savings. Of course, that’s still almost a thousand dollars, so what do you get for the price? Aside from the 24 inches of viewing real estate, there’s a Core i7-2600 3.4GHz Quad-core processor along with 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, two USB 3.0 ports, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, 1GB Radeon HD 6450 graphics, 15-month McAfee SecurityCenter, Multimedia Keyboard, Laser Mouse and more.

The Dell Inspiron 14z is interesting in that is has an Aluminum chassis, which is a departure from most laptops in this price range. Otherwise, you’re looking at standard specs of a Core i5 processor along with 6GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive. It does come bundled with Adobe Elements 9.0 Photoshop and Premiere and after a $260 rebate, it sells for $549 shipped.

Well this deal isn’t really a deal. It’s more of a bundle, where you get a $200 gift card from Dell with the purchase of the Inspiron One 2320. This is an all-in-one PC, with a Core i7-2600S 2.8GHz Quad-core processor and “8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 15-months McAfee Security Center, NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M, Wireless Keyboard + Mouse, 802.11n WiFi, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS and more.” It’s your standard all-in-one, with decent specs but a pretty standard price: $1,299. Good thing you get that $200 card with it.

The Dell Inspiron 15R, which we’ve talked about several times before may not be the most exciting laptop in the market, but it’s often on special so it usually comes out as a decent deal:
Dell is offering its newest 15.6-inch Dell Inspiron 15R-2nd Gen 2.5GHz Core i5-2450M “Sandy Bridge” Laptop with 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD & bundled Adobe Elements 9.0 Photoshop and Premiere Bundle starting at $574.99
That’s after a $384 drop, which is not insignificant.

There is a world outside of Ultrabooks and it keeps spinning even for laptops that aren’t 13 inches, ultra thin and SSD-clad. The Dell XPS 15 is larger at 15.6 inches), but it does come equipped with a Core i7 2.2GHz Quad-core processor as well as a powerful 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT525M graphics card, 1080p LCD, backlit keyboard, 8GB RAM and a 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive. This would normally sell for $1,346 (it is the XPS line, after all), but after todays $497 rebate, you’re looking at $849, shipped.

It’s pretty impressive the things you can purchase for less than $500, especially when you’re willing to sacrifice portability. The Dell Inspiron 620 is far from being an exciting machine, but then again that’s not what it’s supposed to be. It’s supposed to give you good value, and with the following specs, it sure does: “3.3GHz Core i3-2120 Dual-core CPU, 4GB RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, Wireless-N, Intel HD graphics, DVD burner, Keyboard and Mouse, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.” At $439 after a $150 rebate, it’s a good chunk of computer for not a lot of money.
