Han Solo Frozen In Carbonite iPhone Case

By David Ponce

It’s a recurring theme amongst geeks: Han Solo Frozen in carbonite will show up in a variety of products and will usually be a good seller. We suspect the above case will be no exception.

This ultra slim “barely there” style iphone case is designed to fit 4 and 4S models and simply snaps over your phone. My covers are designed and printed in my shop using a dye process which actually binds the ink with the surface, resulting in a durable, long-lasting imprint on your custom case! There are openings for your buttons and camera lens.

And even though it looks like it’s an embossed case, it’s not. That’s a flat image you’re looking at, albeit a pretty high resolution one.

JuiceTank Is An iPhone Case And A Charger In One

By David Ponce

It’s nice to get out of the house now and then. You might even bring your iPhone with you on those excursions. But what if you like the fresh air so much you wander far from home? And as your battery dwindles you realize that like any normal person, you’re not carrying a charger cable around with you. Calamity. Or, just get the JuiceTank, currently in the funding phase on Kickstarter. It’s a simple iPhone case that features two swiveling plug arms that fold down flat when not in use. And while the case does add minimal bulk to the phone, its got to be weighed against the practicality of being able to charge anytime, anywhere. You can get yours for $55 now, or $70 once it hits retail. The campaign has raised about one fifth of the $150,000 it needs to take off, but if successful, you’ll get delivery by July of this year.

Sonastand Is Practical, Portable iPhone Sound Amplifier

By David Ponce

This little object has been making the rounds lately but we were a little slow on the trigger and missed the mark entirely. Better late than never, we say, and so we bring you news of the Sonastand. It’s a fully funded Kickstarter project consisting of a piece of machined aluminum we certainly wouldn’t mind carrying around. See, it’s both a stand for the iPhone and an amplifying horn in one. There’s no complicated docking maneuver to use it, you simply slide the phone in and the speakers will be positioned right where they need to be. In audio tests, the Sonastand has shown to provide considerable decibel improvement. It’s easy to carry around; a little pouch is even provided. It will eventually come in 4 sizes to accommodate cases and the like. And the best part is that it’s not too expensive, at $35, with expected delivery in June of this year.

Transceiver For iPhone Makes You Look Douchey, Could Be Look You’re After

By David Ponce

The hipster manifesto states that normal everyday items must be used in an obtuse manner, in order to make some kind of ironic statement. Or something like that. The point is that we always see people doing seemingly dumb things with the intent to make it look cool, and the Transceiver for iPhone falls squarely in that category. You use it to talk on your phone. Simple as that. There’s even a volume button on the side. And it’s cheap: $20. Just make sure to have your thick-rimmed glasses and skinny jeans on when you do this; you’ll make lots of friends that way.

Ideal Timepiece Is A Neato iPhone Dock

By David Ponce

The ecosystem built around the iPhone never ceases to grow and that produces a lot of crap products. But every now and then one comes out that stands out for one reason or other. We’re not saying the Ideal Timepiece being discussed here is life altering, but it is one of the better looking and fully featured docks we’ve seen in a bit. For instance, it has a sound channel that lets you make phone calls and use Siri easily, routing your voice right to the iPhones mic. There’s also a resonance chamber that amplifies the sound coming out of the speakers so you can hear it from further away. And at the back there’s a wire management system for when you want your phone plugged in without cable clutter on your desktop. Finally, there’s a clock app which displays the time when you’re not using any other feature on the phone.

Now, this is all fine and dandy except you can’t buy it just yet. It’s going through its Kickstarter campaign and has raised practically no money at the moment. There are 50 early backer models pre-selling for $89. The price goes up somewhat after those are sold, with expected retail for the Classic model at $159, which is steep. So get in now if you’re interested.

Tune Blocker Charge And Sync Cable Puts iTunes Back In Its Place

By David Ponce

iTunes is great, but it’s also like a needy girlfriend. It’s just always there, hungry for your attention, pleading and nagging. Every time you plug that iPhone in, iTunes just pops up and wants to talk about the day it’s had. It wants to swap data with you and make sure you’re on the same page, all caught up and synced up. Sometimes you just want to put your feet up and get a nice relaxing charge without iTunes codependant behaviour weighing you down. That’s where the Tune Blocker Charge And Sync Cable comes in. A simple switch lets you decide whether you just want to get a charge, or if you want to give in and “sync up”.

It’s $20.

Simple Suction Cup Lets You Mount iPhone

By David Ponce

File this in the not-new-but-new-for-us folder, the Barnacle is a simple, inexpensive accessory that allows you to mount your iPhone either on your windshield or on a table, for easy viewing. Two suction cups joined at an angle, and there you go.

There’s really not much more to say about this. It’s $3.50.

iPhone Case Packs Polarizing Lens

By David Ponce

Polarizing lenses help remove unwanted reflections from your pictures. The iPhone doesn’t have one of those. Unless you buy this case, which comes with one. What’s even better is the lens is detachable and interchangeable. If you get bored of polarizing, you can screw any of a bevy of other lenses, like macros, or zooms or even… 12X telephoto lenses.

But make sure that there’s a lot of light when you use this: seems the flash is blocked.

It’s $38.

Creepy Siri Case Is Creepy

By David Ponce

Shapeways is a company that prints 3D stuff. We don’t know how long they’ll be around for, considering you can now print your own stuff at home, but that’s beside the point. Turns out they decided to “honor” Siri, that little assistant on the iPhone 4S, and they organized a competition to accomplish this. Of all the entries submitted, the above from SaGa Design won. The case is called Omniscient Siri and the idea is that with this case on, you’re forced to use the phone with only Siri, seeing as the only button you can physically access is the one with which you summon her.

Of course, if you want to do anything other than, say, talk on the phone, this is useless. You can’t actually see the screen, at least not properly, so maybe this is more of a novelty item. It is possible to buy it though, and it starts at $90 for a white one, while a gold plated case will set you back a cool $350.
